Joyce Ely Walker lives and works in Palmetto, Florida. She received her B.S, degree in Art Education from Florida State University and continued graduate studies at the University of South Florida, Maryland Institute College of Art, and Rhode Island School of Design. Her work is included in the permanent collections of Poynter Institute for Media Studies, the Tampa Museum of Art, Merrill Lynch Corporation, St. Petersburg College, the State College of Florida, Rollins College, and the Pinellas County Center for the Arts. Residencies and Fellowships, including Alfred Summer Place, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Vermont Studio Center, Hambidge Center for the Arts and Sciences, the Jentel Foundation , and the Brush Creek Arts Foundation have provided a great variety of landscapes for this plein air painter to explore.
